On the day of the event
there will be strict rules regarding packaging:
-
No plastic
packaging, bags and cling wrap. Paper, greaseproof paper,
tin foil, muslin, cloth or reusable "green" bags are fine.
Plastic bags are a
danger to wildlife such as the red deer and birds so the site
will be a 'plastic
bag free zone'. Canvas
bags will be on sale to raise more funds for the designated
charities. Need convincing why we are insisting on no plastic
bags? Watch this video:
www.messageinthewaves.com
-
No
polystyrene boxes even if you are recycling them. Re-usable
boxes or cardboard only.
-
No glass.
This beautiful park is home for the deer which could be
seriously injured by broken glass..
-
No Non
Biodegradable Cleaning Products.
All packaging and containers must be fully biodegradable.
All food scraps and containers will be placed into
recycle bins on-site.
-
The fete will be a controlled, sustainable site.
Do be aware that
all rubbish on site will be hand-sorted to be recycled by
our Scout volunteers. Take care to manage your waste disposal to
make this task as easy for them as possible. Recycle bins will be
provided near to the entrance of the site.
PLEASE
NOTE: All visitors on the day are advised not to bring along any
plastic bags as these will not be permitted onsite. Only Eco- friendly
bags will be allowed. We will also have our own canvas bags on sale
to raise more funds for our cause.
